So I have actually made up my mind where I will spend the next year of my life: CHICAGO! I came through here on my massive road trip and stayed with my best friend from college--we had an incredible time, but I just wasn't feeling that spark of I moved on to PA, NC, AL, and TN before settling in Chicago...

Frankly, I am scared to death. I have never lived in a big city before--it's so fast and noisy...and everyone honks like maniacs if you actually stop at a stop's like an unwritten rule that you are supposed to roll through them...who knew? Anyway, I felt like this was the best option for what I want to do---I would love, love, love to work with books (publishing, editing, advertising...) but I don't want to live in New I felt like this is where there is the most opportunity for me to actually get to do what I want...

However--right now, I am forced to go through a temp agency---I really need to start work immediately and that was the quickest way I could think of to get a I have suddenly morphed into professional secretary girl...noone knows my secret yet: I am totally unorganized and I hate running errands for people. But I'm not saying a word!

So--do you have any idea how fucking hot it is here in the summer??? It's at least 5 million degrees---today I walked all over down town just checking things out...and after about 4 minutes, I was drenched in sweat...seriously, it was running all the way down my back and pooling in the band of my was disgusting.

OK, ok. My ex-boyfriend says that I am way too negative, and only talk about the things that go wrong in my life, so I am turning over a new leaf. Here goes.

Good things about today:
1. I totally rocked my interview!
2. Apparently, I am an "advanced" windows, excel, and powerpoint user and have perfect
3. I did not get lost in the city at all today!
4. I bought the coolest pair of blue shoes and two purses that made me drool.
5. I ate Costa Rican food for lunch and Greek food for dinner...
6. I rented the cutest apartment in the world!

That's right, I found an apartment today--I get to move in on Monday! It is two bedrooms in a great neighborhood with hard wood floors in the kitchen and wine colored carpeting in the den. It has a huge indoor deck---which is like a sunroom, I guess...It has the sweetest arches over the door and plenty of windows! I love it! It is costing an arm and a leg, but hopefully, I will be getting a roomie soon, soon, soon!

Anyway--things are going well, I'd say. I don't feel nearly as apprehensive as I did last week. However, I am still scared to death of parallel parking and I don't know if I will ever keep the map of Chicago streets in my head.

I am happy.
Today anyway.
Tomorrow is always a different story!

until then--A
